After renting some videos from Rogers on Friday night, I went across street to Asa sushi to try this little friendly looking Japanese take-out/eat-in place in South Burnaby (near the intersection of Royal Oak and Rumble). It turns out to be the biggest mistake I ever made and would never ever go back there. The restaurant looks pretty friendly and so were the staff there. I ordered the Dynamite combo and a banana roll (one of their specialty rolls posted on the wall)for take-out. After ordering, the cashier girl had to go out to get a banana from Seven-Eleven next door to get the banana (not biggie, it happens when you run out of ingredients). The description for the Banana rolls say it has some eel, asparagus,...etc. After getting home, I opened the box for Banana roll, the roll was soaked in lots of soy sauce and the roll just taste plain weird (and I love eel, asparagus and banana) and no asparagus (they went cheap on the ingredients and used cucumber instead) and Asa charged me $6 for the Banana roll. The Dynamite roll was weird too, I have had lots of Japanese food over the years and this is the worst Dynamite roll I ever had..first, the roll was spicy (Dynamite rolls aren't supposed to be spicy) and the prawn tasted that it has gone bad/sitting on the kitchen table for too long. My total dinner cost $7 for the Dynamite combo and $6 for the banana roll and it was by far the worst Japanese food experience I ever had. I would never go back there again.
